History

  • 2002
    • Began operations on August 14th, with 279 employees, 6 boats and 2 production plants.
  • 2003
    • Began fishing for horse and king mackerel for direct human consumption.
    • Acquired production plants of Supe (to the north of Lima), and Samanco.
  • 2004
    • Inaugurated the production plant of Malabrigo.
  • 2005
    • Started technological innovations in our plants from FAQ to stream dried. 
    • Began the construction of the most modern frozen food plant in South America.
  • 2006 - 2007
    • Acquired SIPESA Group, making us the largest producer of fishmeal and fish oil.
    • Opened the largest frozen food plant of South America in Callao. 
    • Acquired production plants in Chancay, Ilo y Parachique.
    • Began the change of energy matrix our Callao and Paita production plants.
  • 2008
    • Opened our first three distribution centers in Juliaca, Andahuaylas and Abancay.
    • Launched our first kontiki product: the TASA anchovy.
  • 2009 - 2010
    • Inaugurated our new frozen fish distributor center in Cusco.
    • Inaugurated our new fishmeal plant in Chimbote with an installed capacity of 226 MT.
  • 2011
    • Achieved the highest production records of fishmeal 430,176 MT and of fish oil 93,541 MT.
    • Won the Business Creativity and Eco-Efficiency award, given by the Peruvian Ministry of Environment (MINAM in its Spanish acronym), for our NutriTASA project.
  • 2012
    • Created the Research and Development Management, first of its kind in the fishing industry in Peru. 
    • TASA is the first company to comply beforehand with the Maximum Allowable Limits (LMP in its Spanish acronym) of fishing effluents established by the Ministry of the Environment for 2015.
    • Won the National Quality Gold Medal award and the Business Creativity award for the category of Decentralized Company. 
  • 2013
    • Achieved that all our production plants could operate under the steam dried system.
    • Won the Business Creativity Award for the category of Commitment to Society.
  • 2014
    • Began the construction of the new OMEGA unit for the refining and concentration of fish oil.
    • Began energy matrix change in our Pisco production plants.
    • Began International Certifications for sustainable fishery and aquaculture products "Friend of the Sea"- that seek the conservation of marine habitat.
  • 2015 - 2016
    • Began operations in the new OMEGA Unit for the refining and concentration of fish oil.
  • 2017
    • Inaugurated our first Work for Taxes (OXI): the sport complex of the Inmaculada de la Merced school located in Chimbote and we began the construction of Carlos Noriega Jiménez School in Pisco under the same procedure.
  • 2018
    • Executed the TASA challenge, the first data science challenge that used industrial processes.
  • 2019
    • Acquired the Cuidamar nautical probe, an unmanned aquatic drone that will help to better understand biomass and make fishing operations more efficient.
  • 2020
    • TASA was the first fishing company to sign the Clean Production Agreement (APL), promoted by the Ministries of Environment and Production, which allows to implement strategies for the efficient use of disused goods and in the management of solid waste.

  • 2021
    • TASA becomes the first fishing company to be part of the Peru Carbon Footprint of the Ministry of the Environment.
